Inside the Orchestra for Tiny Tots and Families
Tiny Tots Inside the Orchestra is an engaging 45-minute performance created for children ages 6 and under to introduce young kids to orchestral music.
Families Inside the Orchestra is for kids and parents of all ages. We put kids literally "inside the orchestra" as they are surrounded on the stage by our
adult professional orchestra. The audience hears well-known repertoire from "Looney Tunes" to Beethoven. Children stomp like giants during the "Montagues
and Capulets," grow with music during "Also sprach Zarathustra," and riding into the sunset with the "William Tell Overture."
This year, we will present two different programs in two different seasons. The fall program will be presented during the last week of September and the
first week of October 2011. The second program will be presented during the last week of Janaury and the first week of February 2012. Look for additional
performances to be scheduled at the new Lone Tree Arts Center, Stapleton, and in Castle Rock.
Check out the calendar at the bottom of this page for venues, times and details. Contact Tiny Tots with any questions.

Inside the Orchestra
Inside the Orchestra is performed in over 30 Denver elementary schools and venues in 60 concerts a season, reaching 25,000 students
giving most children their only first-hand exposure to orchestra music. 80% of the schools are Title 1 and have very limited arts programs.
Both the repertoire and approach to learning of Inside the Orchestra are designed to support and enhance the school curricula. The
conductor introduces key elements of symphonic music such as transitions, orchestral "color" and identifying major and minor keys
with happy and sad. The audience is also treated to up-close-and-personal demos by the strings, woodwinds, horns and percussion. Music
teachers who are proficient with their instruments are also invited to sit in with our professional orchestra. During Inside the Orchestra,
kids have a once-in-a-lifetime chance to conduct the JSG orchestra. By doing so, the student and audience
quickly learn the cause and effect between conductor and musician.

Concerto Program
The Junior Symphony Guild proudly fosters young talent with our Concerto Program, created by Carolyn Shaak and coordinated by June
Haun. Each season over 30 soloists (Grades K-6) perform with the JSG orchestra during the Inside the Orchestra concerts, demonstrating peer success to our young audiences. Auditions are held throughout the year with our Concerto Coordinator June Haun. The Concerto Program serves as valuable launch pad for future performance opportunities, giving soloists experience, confidence and inspiration to pursue their talents.
